News from Lyoko – 10th September 2025

On September 3, to mark the anniversary of 22 years since the world premiere of the first episode of the series, the fan movie “Code Lyoko: A Second Chance” premiered. It took two years to produce, Ozberk Ozen, well-known in the fandom, is responsible for it, but he did not do it alone, as several people handled the dialogues. The entire English version can be seen on YT, and there is also already a version with Spanish subtitles.

The online fanzine “Virtualization!” created by fans from all corners of the world was premiered. It featured short stories, as well as comics and graphics. Free access to everything can be obtained at this address.

As we have learned, there may be another paper next year.

In July, we contacted Sophie Decroisette about work on a possible continuation of the series. We received the following response:

At Dada! Animation, Jérôme Mouscadet and I are working on the relaunch of CL. As soon as things move forward, the community will know about it.

This response is no different from the declaration we reported last fall, which was obtained by the same route so now, through LinkedIn. The matter will be monitored.

More compilations of episodes have appeared on the official French YouTube channel. On July 27, a two-episode compilation was uploaded – 18 and 24. On August 2, a compilation of episodes 6 through 10 was uploaded, while on August 9, a compilation of episodes 16 and 17 was released. On August 16, a compilation of episodes 28, 40, 38, 36 appeared; on August 23, another compilation of episodes 11 through 15 appeared. Other compilations appeared on August 30 and September 6.

The IFSCL.org website already has a section on the 4.7.X version released last year. So far, it is only available in French. In turn, work is underway on version 4.8.X, with an unofficial release date of October 24. A preview is expected to be released a month earlier. We know that there are to be graphically improved forest locations.

The team behind Code Lyoko; Frontieres Virtuelles has announced that from now on the parts of this radio drama will not be referred to as seasons, but as “arcs,” which can be freely translated as “plots.” The first part is to deal with Project Carthage, the two episodes that fall under it are already in post-production. The release date is set for late 2026/early 2027.

The team behind Code Lyoko Resurgence has announced that the script for the first episode has been completed. It was created in French, and its translation into English is underway. At the same time, the search for people to take part in the recordings and lend their voices to the English version has begun. The deadline for the first auditions has been set for September 14. The team is also asking for information from those willing to lend their voices to the French and Spanish versions. The realization of other language versions is not excluded either. We know that an actress has been selected to voice Aelita. A few days ago the lyrics of the opening were revealed.

Here, exceptionally, there will be a small explanation of what it is below, it is a French parody of the opening telling the story of living on credit. “CB” appearing in the chorus instead of Lyoko is the name of one of the most popular French banks.
