In recent days, two articles based on interviews conducted last October have appeared on the website of the French regional television station France 3 (the station that first aired Code Lyoko). The focus of the first article is Raphaëlle Bruneau, the actress who voices Odd and Jérémie. At first, she didn’t think Code Lyoko would be such a success. She now teaches at an acting school in Brussels, and it turns out her students are fans of the series. However, they don’t want to believe right away that she voiced both characters at the same time, they always thought she played either Jérémie or Odd.

Bruneau wasn’t initially very keen on joining the project because she was pregnant, but she was persuaded to at least give it a try. The first recordings were a bit half-hearted, but she was accepted anyway. The actress also revealed that in the French version, the same person provides the voices for both Jim and Kiwi. She also felt that when production ended in 2007, the series could have been extended a bit longer.

The second article, on the other hand, is a transcript of a conversation with Sophie Decroisette and Jérôme Mouscadet. In this case as well, the conversation took place in the fall, and at that time it was mentioned that the series might potentially continue, but that copyright issues needed to be resolved. An update on the matter was promised for 2026. The creators said they were doing this for the fans. Mouscadet is concerned about the rise of AI-generated content, he believes it should be regulated, and he also emphasized that the new series will not use it.

The interview also revealed that writing the scripts for a single series took a total of about 10 hours. The creators said that they were initially involved in Evolution, but were unable to come to an agreement with the new team. In their opinion, it’s a bad show, and the problem was that the show’s foundations had been removed, while the production department had too much say over the creative team. Mouscadet declined to reveal whether Ulrich and Yumi will ultimately kiss in the new season.

Immudelki announced that he has resumed work on Lyoko Conquerors, a strategy game set in the Code Lyoko universe. It is unclear when it will be released. The game will feature multiplayer mode. The objective is to take control over towers. Older versions of IFSCL have also been remastered. This time, the versions are 2.0.0, 2.0.5, and 2.1.5. They are available on CodeLyoko.fr for both Windows and macOS.

Work is underway on a game related to Code Lyoko: Resurgence, new illustrations are being created, but the sound effects are still missing.
